Dena Narbaitz, Esq., SPHR
Known for her measured, fact-based approach, Dena Narbaitz brings more than 25 years of experience in employment law and workplace investigations to her work at Tribu Partners LLC. She has conducted countless internal investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, theft, and other forms of employee misconduct for businesses of all sizes across the public and private sectors. Dena works closely with organizations to understand their operational realities and culture—ensuring every investigation or training is tailored, practical, and legally sound.
Drawing on her combined experience as a litigator and human resources professional, Dena approaches each matter with discretion, integrity, and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics. She provides clear, impartial findings that help employers move forward with confidence. Dena also advises clients on disability accommodations and internal compliance issues. She conducts management training programs on a wide range of employment topics and trains internal investigative teams and HR professionals on best practices for conducting fair and effective investigations.
After graduating from law school, Dena clerked for the Honorable William Cahill and the Honorable David Garcia of the San Francisco Superior Court from 1994 through 1996. She was a shareholder at Steefel, Levitt & Weiss and held various management positions within the firm, including Co-Chair of the Litigation Group and Chair of the Hiring Committee. Formerly a partner at Curiale Hirschfeld Kraemer and Epstein Becker & Green, Dena also served as Regional Director of Human Resources for ABM Onsite Services – West, Inc., and as Vice President of Human Resources for the San Francisco Zoological Society. In addition, she was an EEO Programs Senior Specialist for the City and County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. In that role, she conducted investigations into discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and addressed employee requests for reasonable accommodations.
Dena earned two B.A. degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara; a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law; and an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Human Resource Management from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
